Invitation
Hi, my name is AWOL and I want to invite you to join me on my sobriety program starting tomorrow. I have been here before; gave up for 15 months, then started again. Now it's forever, starting one day at a time. I would welcome companionship. I want sobriety more than life... if there's anyone who feels the same, please join me...

Day 1 for me too!
I want to start off by thanking all of you on this site for your posts. They kept me sober today and boy oh boy did I want to have a drink a few hours ago.
This is my first time trying to get sober. I have been drinking for about fifteen years although the past five or so was when I realized that I had lost control. It has cost me a job, several relationships and now, it appears, it is effecting my health too.
Tomorrow I am going to find a meeting although that whole prospect scares the heck out of me because I am not sure what kind of meeting I need. I never knew AA had such a...menu.
Anyway, I will be with you all here tonight on our "Day Ones." Thank you for being here!
