New to SR
Hello everyone,
This is my first post here. I've been reading around a bit and it has helped. There's been so much devastation in my life from drinking and drug use by my son! So many lives ruined. Abandoned children. And me, the mom, wondering everyday what I can do to fix it. Logically I know I can't do anything. I'm in counselling, have went to AlAnon, had a sponser and right now am physically detached from my son. (his idea) There's days when I feel 'okay' and days when the guilt hits so bad it stops me in my tracks.
There's so much collective wisdom on here, I'm thankful that I found this site.

Dear sammy,
I am sorry to hear of your troubles but I know that you will get lots of support here at SR.
It sounds as though you have been through a lot and will also be able to share your journey and help others - have you seen the Friends and Family of Alcoholics thread? It may be helpful to post this there also.
Happy New Year to you! x
