How I feel
I'm trying not to count I'm trying not to pay attention but I know that in my heart I've been trading one addiction for another . Drinking was first, then pills I have an anxiety disorder and come from a family of addicts and mental illness my husband is an alcoholic and to be honest that was really the only thing we had in commen. I don't want to feel this way anymore my normal it seems is gone
There are five common risk factors related to alcohol dependency.
I have all five and also suffer from an anxiety disorder.
I am sober today and will stay sober for the rest of my life. It took a firm resolve to change my ways, commit to sobriety and remind myself daily that I am an addict in recovery.
You can get and say sober as well! Have you told your Doctor any of this yet, would be a good idea I think.
There is lots of support here and welcome!

There is no way to hide it, life is a mess in the beginning. It was for most of us. Your clutches that got you through life are gone now. It is time to find new ways to deal. There are a bunch out there and what worked for me may not for you. Try to see the light at the end. You can make it.
Time moves at one speed and simply being sober one day at a time is reward enough.
I'm approaching six months and there are many members who're one year, two year, three year + and some with decades sober.
Every single member started on their path of sobriety with a day one.
