Been there, tried that... Feeling like nothing will ever work.
- basing you decision on the way you feel may not be a good idea
- predicting the future based on the way you feel may not be a good idea

It's there somewhere or you wouldn't be posting. It's not easy to quit, hardest thing I ever did was to quit and let go. I couldn't make it to 2 weeks and here I am at 5 months.
I like saplings advice here...I really also felt AA didn't work for me. Turns out I never worked the steps correctly (all the way thru) out of the big book with a sponsor.
Sounds to me like you might want to give it another shot. What's the worst that could happen? You could have a spiritual awakening and become recovered from a hopeless state of mind and body?

Hey there.. I signed up on this site today and have spent most of this year trying to get sober. I stopped drinking from April to September which was my longest time without alcohol in a long long time. I am tired of the heartache, despair and the look of disappointment in my loved ones eyes.
Hang in there. You aren't alone.
