Day 15 sober and I had the dream
Hi folks, day 15 of my plight of sobriety and I had the dream last night,
Not real sure on the details as they are foggy but the jist was that I had a glass of beer and was frustrated with myself for caving in. Like I said I don`t know how I came to get the beer or where I was, I just know I was sipping on a glass of the Golden Ale.
I woke up this morning with a smile on my face when I realized it was just a dream,,,,,,,,,,,two good things, there was no beer and to dream I had to have slept.......

I know the dreams can really mess with your head. I have had them too. Waking up from a nightmare about the real life nightmare. Isnt it wonderful when you realize it was just a dream? The feeling of relief and gratitude all at the same time.
Using dreams do happen every now and then. Especially in early recovery. You can look at them from two angles. When I was having them frequently I would always experience a mixture of guilt and shame when I woke up. It was only there for a split second but it reminded me about how I felt when I last relapsed. It scared the living crap out of me. I have found them more beneficial than anything else.
