...And I am an Alcoholic, who is trying hard to get past the third step. Hoping this site and help with that.

Welcome to SR Russ, this is a great site for help and support. The 3rd step, I assume you're referring to AA?
There is a 12 step forum here which provides lots of information and advice. If you post there, someone will be along to share their experience.
