Hello everyone
I found this website by googling "What to get an addict for Christmas". I read the posts and they were very helpful and comforting to know that I'm not alone in my thinking.
Giving anything that can be pawned or has some trade value to a dealer or druggie friend is a total waste. I have only realized this after several christmases of electronics and other gifts winding up at pawn shops or simply missing.
My addict son is 23 and it's painful to think about Christmas day where the other (now adult) children will be getting Ipads, Kindles, or whatever while addict son gets small food cards, underwear, socks and hoodies. But thats exactly what's going to happen.
Although there will be a lot of love for him too. That will never change.
Thanks for everyone's input on here.

Welcome to SR breadman.
I don't have any experience with what you're dealing with but the folks in the Friends and Family section will. You'll find a ton of support around here.

I have no experience either...but its obvious that, even with the clear boundaries you've set, you love your son.
I hope change will come soon and I wish the best for you and your family in 2013.
Do check out the link PD posted too
