I will do WHATEVER it takes to stay sober and one way i show that is:
^^^Yes! This was huge for me to start telling people that I don't drink.
Before that, I was keeping it secret so I go back to drinking if I wanted to, without any fuss.
Telling people made it real and made me feel accountable.

Making my sobriety my number one priority no matter what. It's taken me a long time to realize that I can only have ONE number one priority. If I don't stay sober, everything else goes down the drain.
I will do whatever it takes to stay sober and one way I do that is I don't let myself forget how bad it was.... and i don't pretend it all never happened.
At the same time I don't use the past to beat myself up because self pity for me leads to drinking.

and one way I do that is
I bring substitute beverages to gatherings
to make sure I have something special to drink that is not alcoholic.

I will do whatever it takes fo stay sober and one way I show that is by telling other people honestly that I don't drink anymore.
I never verbalized this to anyone because then I knew there was no turning back. Now, for the first time ever, I don't want to drink anymore so I am glad that people know.
