Greetings from Fort Worth, TX Howdy, My name is Josh and I am new to SoberRecovery; I am very excited to "jump right in" and take advantage of the excellent resources you all have here. While I have not had anything to drink for over 2-years, I feel far from sober. I never really understood the term "dry drunk" until I was talking to a person just starting recovery recently, and sort of explained it to myself while talking to this person. The power of my own denial impresses me daily, and I know that I am only now just cracking the surface. I'd like to explore recovery more deeply and look forward to doing it here. Thanks everybody! Hey CaptJosh and welcome. i am not sure what the term "dry drunk" really means either. i think it basically means we got a ways to go. finding true joy and true peace is priceless. i hope you will find what works for you, Josh...God Bless! |
