Talking Day 2!

I am well on my way into Day 2 of sobriety. It's been A LOOOOOONG time since I made it even this far.

I am going to as many meetings as I can, reading my Recovery Bible, the Big Book and doing a lot of praying, not to mention posting here. I am not taking anything for granted this time or getting full of my self or my own abilities to do this alone.

Thanks to everyone for your constant support.

That's great.

It's a little bumpy for awhile but a wonderful way of life lies ahead.

All the best.

I found Idle hands are a devils workshop. Keep busy with things that move you toward recovery.

Sounds like you are doing all of the right things. Keep it up and you will make it!

Congratulations on your 2 days! Focus on not drinking today. Then do the same tomorrow. Keep us updated.

That is my next goal. I have a friend in recovery but she doesn't want to be my sponsor. She's been very supportive and we go to meetings together but I understand and respect her wishes. So I am actively finding new meetings and hopefully a sponsor in the near future.

For a long time I thought I could do this without a sponsor and without really doing the steps but I need to do these things in order to achieve and maintain sobriety.

Maybe your friend can suggest a sponsor for you? If you keep going to meetings, someone will say something or you may just get the feeling that this person would be an ideal sponsor for you. Keep listening....someone will strike you with that "I want what the have" feeling. Give it time & congratz on your new journey...
