I wish I would have found this site sooner. I'm really enjoying reading people's stories and where they are now. It's nice to see that I'm not alone in my feelings and my journey. I'm 47 and alcohol has been such a big part of my life and it feels good that I'm not alone.

I voted for 24/7 and sharing feedback respectively. There is also something about it that helps me stay off the liquor. I can't put my finger on it.

Yeah I just took the poll.

This is how I have it thus far:

1. 24-7, even though I have been sober for 6 years, it is very nice to know that there is a place I can come to when I am in that strange mode. Although not frequent, it does creep in once in a while.

2. I like the fact that I can give and receive advice from others. There is some folks on here who have been clean and sober longer than me, their advice does indeed help.

3. I also like the fact that their is threads for those of us who got sober around the same time i;e June etc. That is cool as well.

I just like the fact that it's here. I also like how there are different sections for different recovery methods. I can only imagine how hard it would be if it wasn't set out the way it is.

I would have put the chat room/chat meetings as a singular option. I am not using it much at the moment but I did a lot in the past and intend on starting to attend meetings in the next week.

Other than that 24/7 and just the fact that everyone here is so understanding and friendly. Certainly is the nicest board I have been apart of on the Internet (no trolling ect)

@eveleivibe the classes they refer to I believe is the daily threads for people quitting in the same month (class of feb 2013) ect, I don't know about the whiners club :p

[edit again] the whiners club is in social groups -> cafe central [/edit]

1, 2 and 3 particularly 1, just knowing someone is there at whatever time you're awake is one of the most reassuring things when you're going through hell.

To me it feels like a friendly neighbourhood ,
there are those close to me ,
those i know to look at & say good morning to ,
those passing through i'm aware of,
the're people passing through who might be new friends .
There are also some people who've mooved away but i get the feeling they will pass down the street again soon .

I like to share and try and see if any of my experience might help others on their journey, it kinda brings some good from those experiences i had .
