Okay, I'm vain... How long will it take for my red flush to go away? Am I too late?

If I understand it is related to blood vessels and possibly blood pressure fluctuations at the start of recovery. They both can really improve with maintained sobriety. When I used to drink my face would be really red. It's improving, but I'm only a month in.

It does go down. I noticed recently (I'm 9 months sober) that my spider veins are practically invisible now and although I still get flushed at times (I think I'm naturally that way inclined, heat sensitive or something), I don't have that bloated red look I used to have. I also had all these red patches on the back of my hands and arms which have totally gone now and I think that only took a few weeks. Things will improve but what's that saying, a watched kettle never boils...

Susie, my face looked dramatically better within a few weeks and it was BAD. Super red & puffy & glassy eyes.

Susie, sometimes vanity is not such a bad thing. Once you start seeing actual improvement in your physical appearance it might motivate you all the more to stay sober.

To see the effects on my skin has made me wonder what it's been doing to me on the inside of my body.
