How do you relieve stress?

There are days that I'm really stressed.. I have moments where my head just feels heavy, at random moments in the day. It happends daily that I fall asleep at like 7 in the evening and my short term memory seem's to be lost more and more.

Hi Sharon

I moved your post to our Newcomers Forum - you'll get more response here :)

Exercise helped me with stress - the other stuff, the tiredness and foggy head, went away eventually, the more I stayed sober.

I'm glad you've joined us - welcome! :)

That is still happening to me after 7 months but just 3 or 4 nights a week. Sleep before 8PM and up at 4 AM out of sync with everybody. But then I remembered I had always tended to do that even when not drinking, even a a child. I think there is much individual physiology to consider, like what do our bodies do while we are asleep anyway? I read once that respiration and repair to our organs go on a fixed schedule at night no matter what we try to consciously do.

Welcome to SR Sharon :)

How long have you been sober? I found I had a really hard time dealing with stress early on and I had moments when I was beside myself. It got better with time though. I still find little things stressful but I handle it much better now whereas when I was closer to the time I was drinking I felt really angry and indignant about any amount of stress I had to deal with. Hopefully it'll get easier x

I use music, walking, a good book, whatever helps in the moment.

Hang in there!
