So grateful to be back!
Hey Guys,
My name is Dan, and I am an alcoholic and drug addict. I am new to Sober Recover and returning to recovery so I figured I would take a moment to introduce myself.
I got out of treatment about three weeks ago after a particularly vicious six month run on various narcotics. I have been clean and sober for 49 days today. Prior to relapsing, my longest sober period was 20 months, 3 weeks. I returned to treatment after a failed attempt at overdosing.
I hope to learn from the other members here as well as share my knowledge and experience. I work a 12-Step based program of recovery and I have a sponsor, homegroup, and am involved in service work. Although primarily a drug addict, I choose to work an AA program of recovery. However I occasionally attend NA meetings and am familiar with their practices and literature.
Anyway, it's great to be back in recovery and great to have found these boards! See you all around!

Hi Dan. Welcome, You are in the right place. I have been sober just over 8 months now and things are great. I went out of my comfort zone last week and very nearly relapsed. I just came on here to say thank you to whoever that I didn't.
I visit this site maybe once every couple of weeks but 7 months ago I was on here all day every day, sad but good. I had nothing else then to fill my life but getting sober. Slowley I have drifted away as I rebuilt my life but I still always know this site and the people here are here for you, stick around, in fact don't stray far from your computer.
