How do you guys say no at a party?

I always bring what I want to drink, like a 20oz Mt Dew or coke with an extra in the car. That way I am covered AND have what I want to drink. With regular parties IF I feel like I need show up I'll just make an appearance and leave.

I just say i'm allergic to sulfites in alcohol (which I could be). No one except those close to me need to know about my road to recovery.

I just tell people I don't drink, if asked. If it's early days it might be best to say no to parties rather than no at parties.

Hasnt happened to me yet, but I'm planning on doing the diet coke thing...keeping one in my hand in a glass with ice. Just hold it up and say "I'm good" with a smile. Most are just being polite and mingling around and it's true, I am "good" without a drink and they have no CLUE whether or not it is mixed. Let them assume it's mixed and "youre good" and they will leave you alone. Good luck to everyone.
