Done!
Its been a week from hell that ended with some devastating news. I am done, I give up, I have no fight left in me. I'll be sitting here getting drunk and feeling sorry for myself.

I see your point and I have thought about what its going to be like tomorrow. Doesn't matter anymore, I've already started my awesome little pity party. No use in stopping now.

I wasn't even going to post here, but you folks are the only ones that understand. Everyone else thinks I'm nuts for being a drunk. They think a psychiatric ward would fix me.
there's every point actually.
It's the difference between a bad night and several really bad days.
Fight the despair - drinking never solves anything anyway - you know that.
the sooner you stop the better you'll feel tomorrow.

I'm not sure if it's such a good idea to link some bad thing that happened to you to a reason to drink. If you want to drink, go ahead. If a bad thing happened and you did not want to drink, you wouldn't. There's no reason to attach any drama to drinking. If you want to do it, just do it. There are no real *reasons* to drink alcohol, not a single one.
But there are reasons not to. Like for example you might be able to handle the aftermath of whatever just happened better if you could think straight. Or that you're going to be facing whatever it is, tomorrow, with a hangover. But the best reason not to is the story you are starting to tell right now. Made it however many days and then...something bad happened. And then you had to drink. Kind of sets it up for next time, kind of establishes your belief that you can't handle x or y or z without getting drunk.
And you know that is not true.
So if you want to drink, just do it and forget the big story. People drink because they want to and that is the only reason.
