Struggling tonight

My heads in a weird place. I'm climbing the walls can't relax. Feel the urge to drink :(... I'm not going to but angry with way I'm feeling.going to go have a cup of tea. Why won't my mind stop racing.

all been there - drives you nuts doesn`t it!

just get up and do something - got a dog? - make it the fittest dog in perth! :)

Don't bother getting angry Benji cos I'm not sure there is much you can do about it. Posting on here helped me when my mind was racing, which is often. I have always been quite restless sober and can't keep still for 5 minutes. It is better than being a comatose drunk though :) I'm sure my body and mind are just excited that they can be active now so they're staying that way for a bit x

Hey benji!

I just checked the weather and it appears to be quite comfortable outside. I find plugging in the MP3 and taking a walk helps those circumstances. Sitting around looking at the same four walls will drive ya nuts if you're struggling.

Good luck!

how are you doing now benji?

Finding things to distract yourself is the key. I find getting out of the house works well too. Or finding a movie or book with a great plot...or cooking something...just try to wait it out, it will pass.

Felt good today. Got thru night before. Feel better tonight...only problem is I can't sleep lmfao!!!

Glad you're feeling a bit better...... I had to keep things really simple at first and just focus on letting myself heal. The insomnia is so annoying, I know, but once your brain adjusts, your sleep will be better than ever.

The morning aren't too shabby, either.....:c031: Hang in there!

Oh, I can relate. It drives me nuts too!! It'll get better. Have that tea and just relax or lie down on your back and breathe. In the morning you will be much clearer.

I get in these weird moods once in a while where I get a strong urge to drink. Fortunately, it is always gone after a good night sleep. You will never regret getting a good night's sleep.

Still happens to me after 18 days, drives me batty. I try to remember to tell myself "if you want a drink later you can have one, wait until later"
