I feel like EA Poe

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore-
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
"'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door-
Only this, and nothing more."

I know who is tapping. Little sleep lots of storms. I go on. Will not let this raven in

I'm a big fan of Poe, too. Great poet!

Not a poet but I also dig H.P. Lovecraft, but I can't read his stuff before bed- freaky nightmares!

Yes another windy sleepless night and now kind of flooded. Going to go out in a bit and see if my truck will start. I like to drive through water. Cabin fever and sober do not mix well with me.

Sun's finally out in Northern California after days of whipping wind and rain. Driving home from work last night was a ball buster. My day vision is poor and my night vision even poorer. Thank God I know the turnoffs from the highway because they're so confusing. CA is the land of innovation, but also the land of people who were stoned out of their gourd when they devised the highway system.

My parents live in TX and the highway system works like a charm. There's even a lane to get into to get back on the highway if you accidentally take the wrong exit. And they don't make the highways out of tar - which makes sense because it would melt in the summer. Here it seems that things are perpetually under construction. High speed rail please. It's long overdue.

But I'm not complaining. I couldn't stand months on end of triple digit temperatures. And humidity gives me hives (metaphorically speaking).

To quote someone's tagline: "If you want rainbows, you've gotta deal with the rain." A Steven Wright quote, if memory serves.
