LOL!!!
I can relate, totally. I am OCD about my sobriety coins. I lost one from my pocket a few weeks ago and was a mess for 3 or 4 days until I found it. I once saw a 1 year get 2 6 month chips because the secretary ran out of 1 years. That's just wrong!

they are available for every month for the first year, 18 months and every year from 1 through whatever, although some are special orders
the history of chips is interesting, but since bill w didn't really like clapping or celebrating (it fed the ego) these aren't more than traditions created within each meeting....
Clarence had a medallion he put a hole in for each year of his sobriety, he was the youngest of the first 100 people in AA and his medallion had 46 holes in it at the time of his passing.
Sister Ignatia used to give a St Christopher medal or some coin to those in early recovery and told them to come and give her the chip back if they were going to drink.
A woman went to a bar to drink, she dumped out her purse and a chip was in it. The bartender asked what it was and she said it was her AA chip. He refused to sell her any drink and told her, "We don't serve alcoholics here," and showed her the door.....
Marbles were given out in the UK....something about "losing your marbles" began back then......
Do your own search on the history of chips! They've been around since the early days of AA!

Speak up ...
I still only carry my 24 hr coin... And if you went last week for a 1 month and today for a 2 maybe try going a little more often then once a month..

THE most important coin! I keep my 24 hour in my right pocket, and my current coin in my left. Shows me where I'm at and how I got there. Early on it served as a reminder in case I reached in my pocket for beer money, I'd have to bypass the coin.

I remember when I first came in and a guy approached me outside about my marbles.. LOL.. Love it..
Thanfully I still have mine and his card... never can have enough tools in the box.

You can do your own research on the origin of popular sayings, too.
It’s Up to You; A Story of Domestic Bliss, by George V Hobart, dated 1902: “I see-sawed back and forth between Clara J. and the smoke-holder like a man who has lost some of his marbles.”
Random House Dictionary of American Slang
Kind of off topic, sorry, but I have heard of bars that will give a person drinks for their AA chips. But it is one of those "I know someone who knows somebody" scenarios, which immediately triggers me to think that it simply urban legend. Anybody else heard this? Anybody else SEEN this (so I can dispel my urban legend conspiracy theory, lol)
