So 12 hours of sleep is a good thing. We're up, he's sober with a minimum of detox symptoms, and we made a list with meetings today number one!

BTW, he loves the site--not sure if he'll post, but he is showing me his copy of the Big Book, and talking, talking...

I like a success story when I see one. This thread should be nurtured as such. What a great thing for a newcomer to see.

We just got back from the AA meeting--his first in almost a year and he picked up his white chip and got hugs. It was beautiful--such eloquence and wisdom from what would appear to be the unlikliest sources! When we came out I said that going is such a lesson in not judging a book by its cover. He is overwhelmed and cried a bit, but it's good. Next up is possibly another AA meeting for him tonight (I go too because he can't drive now at least until his trial and probably for 18 months if he's found guilty), and AlAnon for me--either tonight or tomorrow.

Thank you again--what beautiful souls you all are--I feel like God sent us to this site.

Re: Where to begin?

Gemini, What courage you BOTH have..........very, very happy to hear this! You are both on the path, and yes, AA meetings with a bunch of sober alcoholics is a great experience! Saved my life, literally!

Feeling like God sent you here..............YES? Very much so! The people here are wonderful, I felt very much the same way when I first found sr.com. Still do.....

Keep us posted, and tell us about your Alanon experience too. It is wonderful to hear stories like this............you guys rock!

Tom
