hello, iam new to the forum and have really going through some tough times in my recovery.

quick backstory: iam a 28 year old male.. i have been drinking since i was 15 and over the last 5 years graduated to hard liqor. my last year I was up to a fifth of 100 proof vodka a day and quit cold turkey. needless to say this is when my problems really started happening. the first 5 days was absolutely horrible.. didnt sleep for 5 days and was hallucinating (mostly auditory) hearing voices of what seemed like people in my back yard plotting on killing me.

next i was commited to a psyc ward due to these voices for 5 days...

I have been sober for 41 days now... and the voices came back today!.

is there any explanation for something like this or am i completely nuts?

(a little further back info : i was blackout drunk for the final 2 weeks of my alcohol ridden days. I have had vivid dreams/ hallucinations/ nightmares of what i MAY have done during those 2 weeks but there is no way of telling for sure. It feels as if my mind is playing tricks on me or atleast I HOPE SO! as hearing voices of people trying to kill me doesnt quite sit right with me)

any help would be appreciated

I certainly had those kinds of hallucinations while I was drinking and when withdrawing...but never 41 days after.

None of us are Drs here - I think it makes sense to go and see someone and get a professional opinion?

I never had any hallucinations, I am with Dee about talking to a doctor. Looking forward to seeing you on here.
