What I found with NA is that what everyone was saying to me was right. And that's only because I went out and did everything they told me not to do and realised I ended up in more trouble than I had done in the beginning.

I know people might find the whole 'fellowship' thing weird but the love and care you find in those rooms is truly indescribable.

I have a very distinct memory of me announcing to a group of 20 people that AA was not for me in rehab. I had actually been to 20 meetings but I was a special drunk and those people were not like me. Never had a sponsor, never worked the steps but I was an AA expert let me tell you!!!

Just one of about a million things I was totally wrong about. There was a loud popping sound when my head came out of my a$$ and I let AA save my life

Your forum name suggests that you are sick of AA, may I ask, why. How long we're you with AA and did you follow the program?

You sound in a very bad way, glad you have posted here. I am 18 months sober with the support of AA and SR. Getting sober is no catwalk it's a daily thing, there are no magic beans.
I hope you find something here that helps you and convinces you to do whatever it takes to get and stay sober

Love

Your recovery is inside YOU! You can go to the top of Everest searching for an answer. But you have the power to change right now, the power is always in the present moment. Just be willing to except it.

If aa is not right for you trust that's correct the universe will always support your thoughts. Why don't you try other ways....

God bless..
