I'm in freaking tears over human kindness
I have been off the road for awhile due to illness. These guys have been working with came by with a little fruit basket and a signed card. We were all a little embarrassed and they did not hang around but I keep tearing up. Hard dudes in hard times with hearts of gold.. The basket was not much money but to them it was. I continue to get so much than I ever gave and am well enough to give back again. Will the circle be unbroken? One guy gave me his 24 hour chip.
((Fitz)) - Now THAT is totally awesome!! I don't know about the guy with the 24-hour chip, but to me? It was gold and I would have never given it to anyone who totally didn't make a huge impression on me as to what life was really like on the other side of addiction

Well I drove him and a few other guys to their first meeting. They asked the usual qustion anyoneone in their first 3o daze etc. he looks at me and I just nod like I am not in charge and he introduces himself and spent a hew minutes talking about 3 tours and homelessness and happy to have a place to come. I was not the only one there tearing up. One tuff vet got him coffee and a couple of cookies.
I don't mean to sorrow people. Just my story of life. I am eating an apple and still tearing up. If you give you will receive. And I have some old injuries really acting up in the weather. Does not Help. Thank God for SR and my family.

That guy who gave you his chip gave you the most precious thing he had. It's worth more than a several thousand dollar check from a millionaire. The circle is unbroken. What comes around goes around bro. And if people don't reciprocate, it does one good to give anyway. There's no way I would be alive today if people hadn't extended the hand of kindness to me. Sure, some people (strangers) have hurt me, but even more strangers have helped me.
Fitz, your morning post often turns my day around in a positive way. Today you have me tearing up while you're helping to adjust my attitude. I'm sure it felt wonderful to those folks to give something back to you for what you give them cannot be measured.
The fruit basket is history. I realized I had not eaten fresh fruit forever. Sometimes I forget to take care of my self. Today is a self care day, laundry and some house cleaning and of course SR. Tomorrow I will get out and about. Bad weather coming in. Like the geese here a lot of guys migrate south but plenty of motel families that can use some help. I remember living in Las Vegas a million years ago off of donated food and drink coupons, not the greatest life. I also donate to various organizations like a wounded vets group. This year for Christmas however I am giving to mom who is struggling. sometimes it is time to bring it back home. And definately time to take care of myself. I don't need much but self love and maybe a new laptop and car battery.
