Santa
I took my 3 year old daughter to see Santa today.
It was nice to get out of the house as she had been misbehaving all day.
I kept telling her that Santa is always watching so she has to be good.
We went in to see Santa.
She sat on his knee, not at all afraid.
He reminded her that she had to be good if he was going to visit her this Christmas.
He then asked her if she would leave him out some mince pies, some beer and a carrot for his reindeer.
To which she replied 'no beer sorry...mummy hates dirty juice!'
We call alcohol in our house 'dirty juice'.
Santa looked quite taken aback and I did not know whether to laugh or cry.

((Sasha)) I would laugh. Maybe Santa doesn't understand alcoholism? I understand the possibility of crying, knowing your daughter thinks of beer as "dirty juice" but be proud that she DOES know? Just my 2 cents.
FWIW, I don't think a Santa should even mention beer to a child!
Hugs and prayers,
Amy

definitely laugh
Maybe Temperance would have caught on even more if they'd called it dirty juice?
(Right or not, it's quite common to leave alcohol out for Santa here - I expect it's the same in the UK....)

LOL!! My oncle used to do the Santa. Pissed drunk. We would know it's him because he smelled like hell, a fragrance of cigarettes, cheap perfume and boooooze!
You made me laugh hard, thanks!

If I am honest, I think he was a poor calibre Santa - to young, belly not round enough, ho ho ho's not loud enough. I think he was all of 24 years old!
So this weekend we will be on the hunt for a more impressive Santa!
Yes we do call beer dirty juice in house. I think it has quite a nice ring to it! Cider is known as fizz dog wee, due to the colour and vodka is rotten potato juice.
I am laughing now!
