Hobbies!

I know, as with many other alcoholics, you find that you have a lot of time on your hands after drinking. Please share with me some of your favorite hobbies!

Walking
Dogs
Ponding
Gardening
Cooking
Decorating
Shopping.....try to be a little careful with this one!
Reading .......enjoying books about recovery lately, used Anna's sticky for ideas.
Computer.......a delicious "waste" of time, when none of the above work

My husband's late wife of 35 yrs. had
quite a few gardens all around their home
and was something she enjoyed for many
years. When I met my husband 4 yrs. ago
and married, i told him I wasnt interested
in gardening and thus we dug up most all
the gardens making it easier to mow the
grass.

Well...... a few yrs ago, I got the desire to
want to plant a few potted plants which led
to planting bulbs and now, im a full pledge
gardener....

I have quite a few Mahagoney glazed pots all
shapes and sizes with roses bushes growing in
them and various other red variety of flowers.

Im retired, so to fill my time during the day
while my husband works, i am the gardener
who keeps the yard beautified to enjoy together.

I also find it as good theraphy which delights
the mind, body and soul in recovery and grants
me another sober day.

Learning a little beginning piano (instead of drinking beer and intending to)
Fixing up little honey-dos around the house (instead of.....well, you know)

Cycling and building bicycles. I found a local charity that builds bicycles for the needy. It does more for me than drinking ever did.
