newbie any input helps...
Has anyone ever drank so much that they began huffing gasoline? God what was I thinking? That could have killed me. I'm so scared to lose my girlfriend and she swears that if I can't get control of my drinking she's going to leave me.
I don't know if I can even make it passed the 10 day mark sober.

((danimalater)) - Welcome to SR! I think, if you read around, you will find a lot of people that sunk pretty far in their drinking but found recovery. I would recommend you do it for yourself..when we quit to hold on to someone or something, it's usually not enough to stay stopped.
Don't know how long or much you've been drinking, but I recommend being checked out by a dr. Alcohol withdrawal can be really serious or even fatal - better to be safe than sorry.
Hugs and prayers,
Amy

Hi and welcome danimalater
I've never done that - but it sounds like a definite wake up call to me, man.
You'll find a lot of support here - and ideas on real life support like seeing your Dr, recovery groups like AA and rehab too.

Yes, you can make it past day ten. But it might not be fun or comfortable for awhile. It's like saving up for a vacation or a new car. Going without for awhile sucks, but it's worth it later on down the road.
drinking and drugging led me to more and more dangerous and bizarre behavior and more and more substances in an effort to get high. That was one of my wakeup calls.

Welcome R Dani
If you can make it to 10 days you can make it forever! It would help to get support though or look into some kind of recovery method to help you along. I had to change a lot of my thinking to stay sober.
Glad you're here x

I agree with the suggestions before me, but like myself, there were many times when I tried to get sober for someone else. When that person decided to leave anyways, I ended up using or drinking over the situation. I'm not saying that she will leave you or break up, but if that were the outcome of the situation, please set aside a game plan to help you get over it.
Of course these are all hypothetical situations, and I'm sure you are already stressed enough. For now, I suggest that you just concentrate on not drinking this very minute, hour and day. Whatever you do, just remember to never take that first drink.
