Mates big session

Day 7 for me today and got past the normal binging on weekends. Feel really good. Went over a mates house on sat which is the usual routine, normally at about 3 pm it's in full swing with a few mates and beer on tap.

Mate answered the door and wasn't in a good state. He and my other mate had a binge last night that went from 6pm Friday night to 11am sat morning....coke and lots to drink.

Seeing hIm struggle to breathe and the state of his hangover made me feel sooooo good and also great reminder of what I am not missing. Stayed a while and the went and took the dog for a walk and watched the cricket with my ice water.....feeling ever better today....

I always feels even healthier when I see someone hungover. Not that i want to bang pots in their ears, but oh so nice to not be hungover.

Congrats on 7 days. It hurts to see an active hangover in progress once you've stopped. You feel extra good you're not drinking, and extra bad for your friend.
Good for you for sticking to ice water.

It is not good seeing your mates with a huge hangover but as everyone knows there is little sympathy for self inflicted wounds....he's ok and was stil talking about a bender next week. I dont feel tempted at all at this stage so all is going well.

Going to start training again tomorrow so it only gets better!

Congratulations on 7 days. Way to go. As for your friend, I have my flatmate as a reminder. He is hungover or drunk more than he is ever sober. It rinds me of the racing heart, sweats, anxiety etc that I used to suffer.

Sobriety is peaceful!
