Can't Sleep Bad Dream
I had lots of bad dreams about dying or almost dying when I first stopped. After about to weeks it improved. I think a lot has to do with what you do right before you sleep. Reading helps me. Hope it gets better for you.

What you said about being sober involving thinking and being not just drinking really resonated with me. I have been having more vivid dreams (due to PTSD) now that I am not drinking myself to sleep each night. I often wake up as I used to in a cold sweat, totally alert, the usual inability to sleep afterwards. Now I just try to write down the dream and I find that process more calming and sleep inducing than just trying to push the experience away which is what I was trying to do with opiates and after that alcohol in the first place
