First Thanksgiving Being Sober...WISH ME LUCK GUYS!

Today is my first day being sober on Thanksgiving or any holiday for that matter in years literally. This is my actual second day of no alchohol, no cocaine, no MDMA, even no marijuana. Now I'm a bit afraid because I decided to do this cold turkey and being around family and friends who are celebrating for the holidays with alchohol or drugs can be challenging for me. I wish everyone A Happy Thanksgiving and GOOD LUCK on their sobriety today I will keep everyone in my prayers and ask that you do the same for me!!!

Hi, Survivorest!

I wish you the best luck! You've made a great decision to be sober. Stay strong and determined. Sobriety is great.

Happy Sober Thanksgiving to you!

Have a great day.

Thank you so much for the support!

You can do this! If you start to get anxiety just excuse yourself step outside and take some slow deep breaths and just remind yourself that making this decision is saving your life and you deserve a good life, we all do.

Holidays are really hard, this is my first holiday since kicking heroin. I am staying home and spending the holiday with just my boyfriend who is also recovering and laying low.

You can do this! Just stay strong and try to enjoy seeing your family.

hugs

Maylie

((Survivorrest)) - Good luck! I've got a few years into recovery, but am about to go to a family dinner where I'm quite sure some of my buttons will be pushed.

It won't be enough to make me want to use again, but it is frustrating, so I'm taking my own car and will leave when I have enough.

I learned, in early recovery, that having an escape plan is always a good thing:)

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

As it is taking all my effort to say nothing of your going cold turkey on Thanksgiving (guess I blew it there), all I can say is, Very well done and all the best to you in your recovery--take care, and enjoy the day sober---Rick

Survivorest I understand completely! I just left my hometown unscathed. First sober Thanksgiving in years and years! Wasn't hungover today and even almost arrived on time. Please stay strong. It was hard passing by all the bars where all my long time friends would begin their evening only to stay up until the sun comes up. Good luck gu

It was my first sober turkey day too, and I passed with flying colors. :)

I didn't think about it until I read this. It was my first sober T-giving in 25 years.
