Who is doing what to help self & others Thanksgiving
 

It is Thanksgiving what are people doing to help self and others?

I'm going to be present for my family and enjoy not only their company, but my own. I'm pretty swell to hang out with too, despite what my struggles with alcohol had me believing back in the day.

Well this Thanksgiving I will be present physically and also mentally (!!!!) with my family. Which means I will be able to help out and interact with my nieces and nephews. It's great.
I know a lot of people have alcohol served at family get togethers but we do not, my dad used to have maybe one beer but since I told him about my drinking problem he won't even have that around me.

As far as people outside my immediate family? Nothing yet. I very much want to sponsor a family for Christmas, but I don't think I will be able to, but if I have to wait till next year to do it, I will still be extremely proud. I would like to do one charitable act sometime soon.

I'm having my son and his fiance over to my house on Friday. We have not seen each other in 2 years. So, that is for me, and for us.

I just recently adopted 2 kittens, so I donated money to the ASPCA.

Thanks for the inspiration Fitz, I would never have gone online to donate money.

Going to Thanksgrooving at the Y for two hours to get my physical and mental well being fed. Going to stop by a Gratitude meeting after that. We adopted a family from church and went shopping for them.

Other than that enjoy my kiddos and the rest if my family, even the ones who make me crazy.

I will be cooking at a sober club. For a alcathon. We have meetings starting every 2 hours. :)

that is a great question. for others i have a son in the United States Air Force, my husband and I pay taxes (taken out of our checks) and donate to the red cross (yes, I know not enough).

for self....geez.....a hot bath and book would be great!
