Questions about O'doul's
Re: Questions about O'doul's
tastes like .... well Lets just say I don't care for it *LOL*
I find there are so many other things that taste better.
I tend to look at it as...almost beer...almost near. The next step would be...well just one won't hurt. For me that one could become 2 and 2 become 10. Still it tastes like crap to me anyways

Re: Questions about O'doul's
Odouls I look at as a temptation. I am not sure if it is 100% free or not. It has been a while since I looked at one.
From the perspective of things as I see it... Odouls? Why? Why not a coke or a pepsi?
For me Odouls would be a compromise/justification/one step closer to a bud. The one bud could lead to 2 and 2 could lead to 10 for me.
I would need ask my son. He would drink Odouls every so often.
If Odouls so you feel you fit in with the crowd... The verse from Karate Kid comes to mind *LOL*
Left side of road OK...right side of road OK...middle of road squish like grape.
Why care what others think?
If for the taste... I never liked it. I find that clean/filtered cold water tastes better and Coke is better then Pepsi (now I went and did it) Coke Pepsi war will start now *LOL*
My opinion only. Think on things as you see the need

Re: Questions about O'doul's
Odouls' and the like do have .05% alcohol in them. In CA, they have written the law to include this as an open container!
I my opinion, NO, it's not OK to drink them......alcohol is alcohol. Bad trigger, as far as I am concerned. I have always told those I sponsor, to stay away from it. What did YOUR sponsor say?
Just my two cents.

Speaking as a true canadian, I could never understand the lure of american beer!
The "near beers" do have alcohol in them as stated above, and therefore are off limits to anyone serious about leaving an alcohol problem at the curb.

Tom, not everyone chooses AA or has a sponsor, um, remember? Just reminding you.
This is a really helpful discussion because I have noticed the same thing happening with O'Douls that someone expressed. It says "close but no cigar" to your brain, and the hop over the fence to wanting a beer (even more) is a short one.
Being a wine-er myself (whiner!) I did try fake wine when I was trying to cut down, and found it unbelieveably annoying. You are tasting something that is pretending to be the thing you want, and it just escalates your actual anxiety! True for me.
Trust your heart on this one. What does it say?

As mentioned, yes they do have alcohol in them and IMO it's just to close for comfort for me as I was a beer only drinker. I gave it up and that includes anything that remotly looks, resembles or tastes like a beer. After 10 years of sobriety I would think that it would be a non issue and why tempt fate? Good luck!

if you are serious about sobriety......you surely dont need this type of beverage to try to remind you of the real stuff. Take it from a real beer-o-holic. I know!
