An impulsive Wednesday..... a new course

My CBT session has been cancelled so I've impulsively booked myself on a stained glass course today. Starts in 30 minutes, lasts all day. That means being with a roomful of strangers......YIKES!!!! I can feel my irrational fear/anxiety rising. Shaky and so anxious I may have a seizure (my main obsessive fear and totally irrational), a bit paranoid...everything that would normally make me want a drink. My Pavlov dog scenario!! They'll ask me what I do etc etc.....I have nothing much to say.... I just want to make some pretty things for Christmas and stained glass is a new medium for me :/

Wish me luck......have a good day everyone. If I survive, I'll see you all later xx

Breathe... you'll be fine. Of course, by the time you see this it will probably be over anyway. If so, how did it go?

Thank you....it was GREAT!! Lovely people, lovely old farmhouse in the middle of the countryside.....so peaceful. Had a moment when I was getting a cup of tea when I remembered the last course I went on I was drinking vodka throughout it. And smoking. Today I didn't want to but I'm now about to have supper and there's a faint voice saying that a celebratory glass (!!!!) of wine would be really nice. So I'm going to go and eat and get rid of that voice. I hope!!
Hope you're both well x

Glad it went well for you. I hope this will remove some future fears you might have about trying new things. I struggle with this, as well.

Thank you Fernaceman.... I only booked it this morning so I didn't have time to think or talk myself out of it! Too much time on my hands is so bad for me! I'll whip myself up in to a frenzy of anxiety!
Yes, if I keep doing things like this that challenge my 'normal' behaviour, I should gain more confidence over time. As will you x

Lol, I need to start doing productive things more "on the fly," I guess. I tend I think myself out of them and cancel all too often just because I am scared to try something new. Pretty silly...

Reminds me of being at the store...90% of the things in my cart I will put back because I think myself out of buying them by the time I get to the register...if it was a pay as you go situation I would be in trouble, LOL. Ohhhhh, me and my silly tendencies.

Good for you.
I would love to find a ceramics class or a mosaic class
Please upload some photo's of what you have made, I would love to see them?
