first time
hi everyone
I am a first timer here. Im 43. My drinking started in my teen years (binge drinking in the weekend), then into my career years (going out on Fridays nights and heavy partying). I stopped while pregnant and breastfeeding but then started to look forward to it on a daily basis (stopped partying) but still binged ie progressively and slowly worked up to a bottle a day. Same story I would try and "control" it ie not drinking monday to friday etc having two free days a week and basically revolving everything around it. Also excuses to drink too whether happy or sad. Then on Monday the light bulb went on and after a long time in denial decided that in fact I had no control over it at all if I was still drinking it was the other way around and I just stopped. Its Thursday and apart from the odd twinge ie since its summer here would think about a bbq and think glass of wine and I just didnt think about it. The other thing was realising that I was getting tolerant. So 4 days now and I honestyly cant see myself returning to what I was like. I dont understand after so many years this dawning realisation. I read posts too on Monday and that was great so signed up.
My husband is really pleased and says how positive it is.
Thanks everyone
