It really depends on where you live. I live in Ontario, Canada, and the laws here regarding impaired driving recentlyy got a lot harsher.
I spent overnight in a drunk tank once. It was not pleasant.

Court yesterday, aftermath. Remained sober and stuck to my plan, though I am embarressed to admit I did NOTHING regarding self care. Not even basic hygiene. That is hard for a girl to admit. So Im gonna fix that today...I feel disgusting.

Those two are my favourite and the first one especially well researched using the Pali canon.

I have seen people in the UK with serious drug smuggling charges get off prison sentences when they went into inpatient treatment. The courts love a 'changing my life' bit. You may get a fine or probation or whatever but it is better than being a cell. I would say, bearing in mind I am not a professional, that the odds are in your favour.

I will check out those books. And yeah, I really dont think I could do anymore to help my recovery....but Im always open to more! My addictions counsellor was pleased. Also, I figured out I can continue a weeky local follow-up program for 9 monthes after my inpatient program....so I was pleased to find that out.
