Enough is enough!
Hi everyone,
I had kind of a rough day today. I was doing good staying sober 4 days and then the weekend came and i relapsed and started drinking. I drank alot to the point that i'm emotionally, physically and mentally exhausted. I went to the park to try and get a couple of minutes of sleep but then i just broke down and cried. Tough to say that as a man. I decided to call EAP which is a work help line to get some help. Feeling better now. I'm going to go to counseling and need to go to AA. I also called my sister who helped me tremendously through the afternoon.

I remember picking up again after being sober for awhile. I was sure I could have a drink or two. Of course, that failed terribly. At least you know where drinking will lead you. Don't forget how horrible you felt - you don't want to go back there.
Going to counseling and AA will be a huge help. I'm sorry for your misery, but better days are coming. You can do this.

I'm so glad that you made the call to get help for yourself. And, it's wonderful that you have your sister's support. Please know we do understand how hard this is.

I was exactly where you are last week. Passed the weekend sober. I was top shape this morning. It's so worth it, you can do this no doubt about it. When enough feels like enough deep inside the rest comes naturally.

I'm a man, and I'm not ashamed to say I cried too...I was at the end of my emotional, physical and spiritual tether when I quit.
I think counselling EAP and AA are great ways forward

Welcome Garrison!! I have had many slip ups as well, and looking back I realize I just wasn't ready to stop. I am on 40 days today because I was finally ready and I reached out for help and had a plan. Sounds like everything you said in your post.
