Funny thing sober sometimes you can be almost sane In the grocery line this little old lady with half the items I had was behind me and I asked her to go ahead. Then this guy behind me with twice the items and half the age I had said can I go ahead too? I said no no and he says I was a vet and I said join the crowd but behind me. Some people I can be peaceful but not passive. That is a thing really for me to learn in recovery. |
I used to be an altar server, can I get in front? |
Well i wasn't so ok but i am guessing i saw twice the service that dude did. Life is not about entitlement. The bad thing it seems to happen a lot of places even the rooms. Like pecking order. It is just life and not my problem. This dude was big and could have kicked my butt but you still stand up. I remember when I first spoke up at a meeting this guy afterwards says you need to earn your turn. So I went back the next day and spoke up again. |
And I am like the shy guy in the world but that was rude. |
I LIKE your style, MCF! |
my thoughts on it are this: If that guy was a veteran, he would probably have never asked to go ahead of anyone else. I could be wrong. |
Well you can be a Vet but never been in Idian Country. I think a strong point to recovery it makes you work it. |
And it is all a growth thing. He was like 6:4 big crew due and part of me thought do you want to take it outside because I used to be like that but I just said wait your turn and went about my business. Sobriety has brought me much more peace. To myself and others |
