If this helps, wonderful. I've read some negative reviews. I would just caution you not to read into the book what would support any idea that you don't have a problem or supports the idea that you can drink moderately.

Lionhearted1, the book is sub-titled "Advice from Those Who Have Succeeded."

Isn't that what SR is?

The book never implies that I don't have a problem or I can moderate if that where the case I would be drinking moderately at home not writing this post.

The book questions 200 or so ex alcoholics who have 5 or more years sobriety on the way they personally recovered from there addictions and you would be surprised at the results. People recover using a variety of differant techniques and ways. Very interesting!!

I suppose it would not be approved aa literature tho...

My plan is too keep doing what iam doing, avrt, reading, looking at smart at the moment aa is always there I have friends in the rooms who I could call at any point and they would help. But to be honest I have always done well using my own intuition and don't believe iam powerless. so I think iam going to just keep taking bits and pieces from everywhere and tailor my own recovery. Obviously sr is and does play a massive part in that!!!!

I have found education to be important but not drinking is more important. After a very intensive 4 month rehab I was a walking encyclopedia on substance abuse but that did not stop me from drinking. No matter how you do it you will not get drunk if you do not drink. AA taught me how not to take that first drink a day at a time. It is the train engine that kills you not the caboose
