and i love this place ,,,cos,,,,,

I love this place because it has become a part of my life for some time now. Everyday I have been here for many many months of recovery. And have met some of the people here f2f and are real friends. Plus all the cyber friends I have gotten over time.

I love this place because I have shared my most shameful moments and received love, compassion and understanding.

Even though it's cloudy outside, it's always Sunny on SR.

The shame I used to feel about--pick a simple one--the time I blacked out at a fancy dinner party, puked several times in the basement bathroom, woke with an epic hangover, and could have ruined a friendship. Now I look back at that and say, WOW, I did X & Y. I needed to get sober so that will never happen again. SO I GOT SOBER!

(I like to remember that it's not a competition about whose bottom is worse or better. It's all about us helping each other WHEREVER WE STAND TODAY.)

Thanks Itchy! Now if you can find the lyrics and music for "Mammy!" I'll say that I'd "walk a million miles for one of your (or Cleopatra's) smiles." This SR website is somethin! Rainin' violets on Cleopatra there in London, me in Massachusetts first thinking of Crosby, then of Jolson, and Itchy down in Louisiana supplying the lyrics and the audio. Recovery is indeed international- just like alcoholism.
