checking in....

I've been a bit absent these days. Just writing in to say hi to the SRs. I made it past 90 days so that's good. I'm just sitting here watching t.v. with my pitbull feeling that old emptiness that has nothing to do with being alone and everything to do with feeling a stranger to myself. I'm doing ok though. As long as I have a roof over my head, food, friends, and a dog I'll be fine---though of course, all this depends 100% on my going to meetings and staying sober.

Hope ur all doing well.

Zorah

Congratulations on 90 days! Don't forget to check in more often! Just because you are sober doesn't mean you don't need support.

Way to go Zorah 90 days is more than I've ever been able to get. It's 3 months, thats a long time for people who use to drink everyday. You are on a wonderful joirney, stay the course! And being grateful, like you are, is key.

Zorah,
Congrats! It keeps getting better until you one day realize all at once that you are indeed free! It just hit me between six months and one year, I did not mark the day as I didn't know if it was permanent. It was. Keep going and that day will be yours too, with no more empty feelings for your old solutions. But we do what we must until that day. I am proud for you!

Congrats on 90 days! I can't wait to get to that point! You're doing great!

I know what you mean about feeling like a stranger to yourself. If I wasn't in law school and over loaded with work I would have a lot more time to sit and think and that would be a huge thing on my mind. For so long our identities were our DOC and doing things that had to do with that. Being sober and not pushing feelings aside by using/drinking makes us have to deal with life and who we are all while working on our recovery.

Keep going to meetings and staying sober! You got this :)
