Finally got past 20 days
Hi everybody
Just wanted to stop in and say hi. This is the first time I made it past the 20 day stumbling block and now I'm on day 27.
I was very tempted a few days ago, and I actually really did come close to doing it, but this time it's AA that has changed things for me. I used to not think much of AA and never really 'got it' but this time around it's really making a difference for me. I think that's because for me, relating to others has always been a problem. I never got attention as a kid, never learned how to relate to people and make real friends, so when I got lonely the bar was my favorite place to be. This is changing. Slowly, but it's changing.
Sorry didn't mean to go on this long - just wanted to say hello and thank you so much for being here, without this forum to talk to and learn from, and the people here who suggested AA for me, I probably wouldn't be in a good spot today.
It's still hard I'm still brand new but I'm on the right path now and I know that.
I hope people are ok after the insane weather we've been having and are about to get more of. I hope everyone is ok today and has a good, good day no matter what's happening. A sober day at least.

Congratulations on your 27 days. That's wonderful!
I found AA so helpful. I needed to be with other people going through what I was going through, and know that it would get better. I'm glad you find it helpful too. It sounds like such a scary place for some, and yet it saved my life.
