SoberForMySon (love that screenname), i can sense your excitement and hope. congratulations on passing up that booze. it might not seem like much to most people, but we know it's a BIG deal. i, too, have children. my 17 year old daughter went to live with her father because of my drinking. and i haven't talked to or seen my 23 year old son in almost three years. he refuses to speak to me until i get sober and stay sober for at least six months. i need him back in my life, so i guess you can say i'm Sober For My Son, too.

Wow, thanks everyone!!! And welcome luvfcp. I know you can do it, too!

I know I need to not be overly confident. The demons can come back and they will, I know they will. But I am so enjoying this high. My sobriety at this point is precious to me. I can't imagine giving it up now. I can't imagine going back to that disgusting life I was living. I can't imagine gaining more weight. I can't imagine that I ever lived like that, even though it was only just over a week ago. It feels like another lifetime in some ways. I just want to move forward.

I forgot soda yesterday, so I'll be heading back to the store today probably. I'm not even worried this time. But I'm still going to keep my guard up. I need to quit the soda too, but one thing at a time.

Yeah, take it easy on yourself. You know the saying "Rome wasn't built in a day". I too drink soda to an excess but it doesn't make me hungover, not remember the night before, have the shakes or any of that other sucky stuff. You can do it!

All the time. I love my meetings away from meetings.
