Spouses

Hello all, I am new & am pondering a situation that I would like some feedback on.

Do you feel its OK for the spouse of a recovering alcoholic to continue drinking. I don't mean in front of the alcoholic, but out with friends, etc. on an occasional basis.

Of course it's OK. Why wouldn't it be?

Sure..why not...they are not the person with the problem..

Out of curiousity...are you recovering or are you the spouse?

Jim

Yes, I think it is. But I am very thankful mine does not. I don't want any alcohol in my house, ever.

I agree with everyone above but it is very helpful having a husband that does not drink. We never have it in the house so the is very little temptation.

If my husband had any alcohol around while I was trying to quit I would have never made it.

Its tough. My wife had a draft beer in front of me last night. She apologized after but I told her that its up to her. She does like to drink though and Im now rounding day 6. Sometimes she wull bring home drinks and have 2 or 3 in front of the TV so lil worried about that but I dont want to ruin her night.
