Just calculated my sober time
I haven't been on SR in a while and when I logged in tonight I decided to calculate my sober time. It's been exactly 6 months since my last drink! Holy cow!
This time six months ago I stumbled off a plane at 7 am drunk as a skunk. I got lectured by a cab driver on how drunk I was that early in the morning and somehow that clicked with me that I needed to quit. My mother, father, girl friend, and best friends couldn't convince me to quit, but some foreigners sharp words stuck with me. Wow!
Anyways, my life has become a lot easier since I quit drinking. Decisions have been made instead of being put off and ignored. Projects around my house have been finished. My relationships have gotten stronger with the important people in my life and the people that were just friends because we drank together are now gone.
Anyways, for those of you just starting, keep with it! Sobriety is totally worth it. The first 3 months were the hardest for me but then things started getting better. White knuckle that hard times and get through them because the other side is so much better when you get here! Have a good night everyone!
