Panic attack but screw it
Panic attack but screw it
I can learn to take a breath sober no monsters under the bed, not in a fox hole. Learning I am just here now in this moment makes a big difference. Just taking big breaths and no bottle to reach for. Drunk is not a good PTSD solution.. I love and care to all.
Fitz,
Do you know about counting breaths? It's a method to get through panic attacks. One that helps me is to breathe in slowly, through the nose to the count of five, hold to the slow count of four, exhale slowly through the mouth to the count of eight.
Also, you can count one in, one out, slowly.
the panic does pass.

I had a hardcore panic attack today, and mine are always hypochondriac in nature. This time I was nearly convinced all those pills I gobbled up over the weekend had destoryed my liver. I could barely function I was so scared. This has happened more than a few times, its insane, its the most scared I've ever been and it has got to be some ptsd or brain malfunction thing to make me unable to realize the inssnity in the whole thing. It feels so real.
MycoolFitz,
sorry this is tough I am sure. here are two books that would probably be of good help. the first one, I have read, Worry, by Edward Hallowell and it helped me soooo much. i have ptsd, and at one point it was really hard to stop worrying. this book helped me a LOT.
another, called How to Stop Worrying and Start Living: Dale Carnegie -should be great, since he is a real inspiration to many.
maybe having these books to pick up and read when you start thinking about the tough stuff would help.
hugs
