Went to the store today and right inside were cases of wine. I had to work my cart around them. Then at the check out line were bottles of wine stacked up. I believe we and D.C, lead the nation in consumption. Went to the gas station yesterday and went into get a soda and there was a barrel filled with mini bottles. Nothing like one for the road. Plus I live 2 blocks from two casinos. Well it is all my choice but still...

Wow, I don't even like to fly over Nevada it is such a trigger city for me. In my journey, there have been a few times that what happened in Vegas actually stayed there for real. I would go on a wicked 4 day bender, cancel my original flight home to continue said bender, lie to family about why I didn't come back when I said I would...finally make it home. Sleep for like 2 days - and here's my point, most of what I did there is blacked out so I really DID leave it in Vegas. I'm just thankful I never got arrested - oh wait, you have to leave the suite to get in trouble. Well, sometimes anyway

I had difficulty today in the grocery store with the 30% off all wine bottles signs. Every corner was an ad telling me to stock up for the holidays. I kept walking, but wanted to slowly start pocketing the signs!
I had a great holiday in Vegas with friends. I recently told someone I wanted to go back there. That was before I made this decision. Your post made me look at that holiday in a new light. I really would struggle to be there sober. I'm not sure, right now, if I would go back with friends.
Holidays are not a trigger for me usually. I've recently got back from New York and I didn't drink much at all with a friend who hardly drinks. It's my routine that is a trigger so huge respect for you to live there and be sober.

Well it is up to me. always triggers. It is what [I] decide it is just everywhere 24/7. I was in a store a few days ago and they were doing a wine sampling. It was my choice. I thought if they were doing a greek yougurt sampling would I be so tempted, I justb kept walking.

I went grocery shopping yesterday. I have'nt been to the grocery store since I quit drinking. Wine promotional displays everywhere. I stopped and looked down the liquor aisle and I felt kind of angry. It was like feeling betrayed by someone. I didn't want it but I was mad because I know I can't have it. Is that normal?
