For an ex tuff guy I feel pretty soft now

I read the posts and sometimes my heart about breaks. I get by day by day. My biggest deal today is buy food and pay bills. 7am here been up several hours but sober. Life is so diffferent. Panic attacks are my worse things now but I know i can get through them. I really know the more I give the more I get. My worst panic is seeing my ex marine DI therapist, he is not touchy feely.

maybe you could get a new therapist? i see so many references to panic attacks and anxiety, its such a common thread among us. i have general anxiety but take a small dose of anti anxiety med daily. it takes the edge off but thats about it. sometimes i wonder if having anxiety just means we're alive? just don't know. anyway, Best wishes to you!

Just remember that being a man has nothing to do with toughness or emotionless-ness... it's about emotional honesty and strength, commitment, love, dedication, and a whole host of other things that don't force you to destroy your humanity...

Hang in there, and get a new therapist if at all possible

And I agree but childhood abuse and a war can bring on a facade. Now I am rereading Pema Chodron and some poetry.
