Day 1 (again)
Hi and welcome. You've come to the right place. You can do anything if you want to do it badly enough. Wine was my poison too.
Do whatever you need to do, go to the doctors if you have bad withdrawal symptoms, go to A.A meetings, read and post here as much as you possibly can, the more support you get the easier it is and you'll get lots here. Join some of the groups, you're still in time to join the class of October and there's 30 days and under, 12 months and under and much more.
Good luck, you can do it, you're not alone.

Welcome. You can what ever you put your mind to, but you have to really want it. Don't think about anything but staying sober just for today. Don't make yourself promises, don't worry about tomorrow until you get up. Stay out of your own head and stay in today. You can do this.

Well I'm on day 1 and I've decided to start a journal, and keep writing all the things I enjoy more being sober, remin myself how good I feel in the mornings, and I feel this time I want it more from within,
Do you have any sugestions that will help

I am a big AA fan because it saved my life. I also have used AVRT along with AA but there are other ways like SMART. I would remove all alcohol from the house and not go to any drinking situations for a while. One of the reasons I like AA is because you can build a support network of sober friends. People you can talk to about the daily struggles of getting sober
Hello. Fellow wine drinker here. I'm on 4 days sober and, although my face is only marginally less puffy, my hands have shrunk and are almost bony! I normally resemble a cabbage patch doll. Wine does that!
You're in the right place and you will do it.
Good luck

Welcome Winebegone,
That could have easily been my name as well! I think journaling is a great idea. Check out the Women for Sobriety website, I have been picking one of their principles each day to focus on and remain positive, I then journal each night. I am on Day 20 and that is the longest stretch for me in five years. Read and post on SR whenever possible, it has helped keep me motivated and accountable.

Welcome Winebegone!
Congrats on day 1! You're going to look (and feel) so much better after you get sober. I was a wine drinker, too, and just got tired of the hangovers, anxiety and depression that went along with it.
Take it a day at a time and stay close to this forum and whatever other support you have. It will get better!
