Happy to report....
Did a 500 mile round trip to a friend's funeral today as a passenger. I survived the wake drinks and also last night while I was staying with my cousin and she opened the wine. I just explained I wasn't drinking this week. Enjoyed a lovely elderflower drink instead.
It was a terribly sad day as my friend had Parkinson's and had taken his own life. He was only 55.
So Day 4 nearly over and a huge self pat on the back. I'm not feeling half as tired or flat as I had been. Day 3 is definitely the biggest hurdle!
Hope you are all doing well.

55 is very young, Sazzle, I am sorry to hear about your friend. That sounds as though it was an ordeal, it would have been very tough for me too during my first week sober. There really is no place to go to regroup when you are in a car for a long journey like that. But you have made a decision and you stuck to it. Congratulations to you. Well done!

I am sorry for your loss Sazzle, I hope that your fiend is resting in peace.
Well done with your achievement.
I find events like this can be a big trigger and you are ofen encouraged to drink by others.
You did really well and I am sure your friend would have been proud and grateful.
