Nit picking
In reading some threads I see a lot of nit picking. Yes AA, no Aa...... Regardless of what path you choose, there are certain requirements.
A desire to stop drinking or drugging
You must have an open mind
You must do the work.
It's pretty simple. Right? It's not always easy, but then again neither was drinking and drugging as a way to cope either.
The last thing I want to do is visit a place, physically or mentally, that loses its focus to too many chiefs and not enough Indians.
Personally, running the show on my own terms kept me drunk. I come here seek and offer support and advice. Not to pick apart what you think is right or wrong.
Sorry, I'm just over it today, I have bigger things to pick apart than other approach to a happy and rewarding life

I'm sorry you're disappointed with the responses from SR.
I always manage to find something uplifting and inspirational when I come here.

Support that I needed? It's going to take time. It's much more than not just picking up a drink. Support that I can offer? It's going to take time, its much more than not just picking up a drink.
I'm a self starter.... I read read read. I google keywords and see where it takes me. I have read some very interesting things in regards to sobriety. One can never stop learning lil! Best wishes!

I understand how you feel and agree that nit picking isn't helpful. I think it's just the nature of forums.... everyone has their opinion (and I guess you could say some express it more passionately than others).
It's tough to draw the line, but I think the mods here do an excellent job in keeping things civil.
