it's 61 degrees here (very warm for the end of Oct.) and it's going to hit us within the hour.
this is huge storm spreading itself in from the coast. right now the rain has stopped by me, but it seems to be a crapshoot.

This is the only thing I want for XMAS I can't afford one money is too tight but I'm hoping Santa is good to me!
Storm has calmed down here. I actually just went out and got a coffee lol I took my Dad's car. Lot's of leaves from the minimal trees! After this I don't think there will be any left but not too bad. Things seem to be calming down.
I hear it's a bit different in NYC and NJ and those coastal area's of Mass, hope everyone is staying safe and sober!
People need to stop inviting my to hurricane sandy parties why is bad weather an excuse to get inebriated anyway? So if something happens you can be too drunk to do anything about it? Seems silly!

The sound of the wind is soothing. Frightening but soothing.
The flicker of the candles. The rattle of the windows. The beating of my heart when it sounds like all hell is breaking loose.
It's all great in a way.
But to those losing anything I hope for the best for you.
There's not a whole lot more to say huh?

We have gone through (killed) two Keurigs. They dont last very long, IMHO. We cot the Cuisinart brand two years ago and it's much, much better. Glad we have it, especially since I've quit drinking and smoking, I have trebled my coffee intake....

Sounds wicked out there right now. Glad I still have power. The storm coverage on TV has been a good companion today. Kept my mind off the Saturday night from alcoholic he-double hockey sticks and all it's embarrassing moments (those I can recall and those I was told about later). I will NOT do this again. When this storm has blown over I am going to AA and I am finding a sponsor. Or at least someone who will give me some crap when I don't show up to meetings for a week or more.
After living in the Caribbean on a boat for 10 years and went through many hurricanes, including a cat 4. Watching the forecast and my various weather sources, I was very concerned about NYC in the face of Sandy. It looks like my concerns were more than valid.
For all those impacted by this storm, stay strong and safe.
I am without power, but no damage. Probably a week before power is restored.

Made it through the storm here in Philly. Lost a couple trees, one fell into our pool, and lost power for a bit. But nothing too bad. My neighbors all came to my house last night and everyone was drinking "because of the storm." Guess who made it through the storm clean and sober? Me.
My prayers go out to those at the Jersey shore. It is a tragedy to see what has happened to the place where I spend my summers and have many dear friends. Be safe!
